Most of us have many good memories of Christmas from our past. If your home was in the north, or the mountains like ours, the season brings to mind lots of snow, bundling up with coats, boots and scarves, caroling in the neighborhood, drinking hot chocolate and maybe, hoping to be chosen to be an angel in the annual Christmas pageant. But living in Florida, I don’t really mind forgoing the snow and all that warm clothing at Christmas time.
Nevertheless, there are a few things I’m not willing to let go of - like singing well known carols and recalling the Christmas story. And if you are anything like me, that ‘little town of Bethlehem’ continues to hold the prominent place in the midst of decorating our homes, gift giving and the bustle of many wonderful holiday events.
We want to encourage you to come and spend one short hour as we recount the incredible story of Christmas. There will be a ‘pageant’ of characters in costume and live animals as the story is retold in a fresh way that will keep everyone’s attention, young and older. We will sing some carols we love. And through the narration, we will recall the incredible meaning of Christmas - God’s gift of His son to the world.
While many of us might pass on playing an angel in the pageant, don’t miss the opportunity to bring your family, kids and Grandkids to the chapel parking lot Saturday Dec 22 at 10:30 AM and enjoy a refreshing account of a Kings birthday. Sheep, oxen and Barney the Camel will be waiting for you, as well as refreshments for all. Join us and make some new memories this Christmas, and as the carol says, “Come, let us adore Him.”
